I stumbled upon this comic a couple of weeks ago, liked the style of it but decided I needed a bit of backstory to this “new visitor”, so I went back and read through the whole thing. And I’m so glad I did!
I love the surrealism of the story (has the world as we know it ended, or could it be aliens or some huge government/corporate conspiracy? Are the creepy things real, or are the characters hallucinating?) and the story arches. Tom’s briefcase intrigues me, and “Rosemary in the well” was dark and wonderful. Gretel has grown on me as the story has developed, but Scotty has, if possible, become less likable, though I did feel for him during the Heaven/Hell arch.
Oh, and I was genuinely sad for the duration of several strips when Mitzi the cat was chucked in with the sharks. Then again, what with her being a cat, I’m still hoping she’ll come back.
I hope that Rosemary won’t be too disappointed if Jean-Claude (Scotty) shoots her instead of slitting her throat as she predicted!
Take the shot! Take the shot! Don’t let there be enough time to let a distraction pop up! Take the shot!
