Well, technically, painting ones self into a corner is a matter of how fast your paint dries and therefore not a permanent entrapment and more a figure of speech. I find that civil engineering e.g. anything like canal digging or blasting in general might leave the foolish one standing on a spire of rock with your life caught in the winds of fate.
