We can see trajectory, and we can guess speed. In most situations, Scotty is useless, so one assumption is that he fumbles the gun. Another is that he doesn’t even manage to touch it. This leads to one scenerio where the gun goes off and shoots Scotty (a loss of a bullet). But, a second scenerio is that the gun goes off and shoots Rosemary in the face, but she’s protected by all her makeup (a loss of a bullet). The third scenerio is that the gun goes off and shoots the doll. It’s this last one where things get really ugly (loss of the doll. And a bullet.)
Eerie how you see these things. (I was hoping for #2 – that came out wrong – wait – I mean I misspoke!)
